V640 exclusive to Vodafone

Stylish HSDPA music phone supporting Java

Platform 8 (JP-8)

The Sony Ericsson V640 is a music- and entertainment-focused phone exclusively for Vodafone and the TrackID

music recognition service provides a direct link to Vodafone's Music Store for fast track download. This HSDPA/UMTS phone includes a 176x220 pixel 262K TFT display, 2 Megapixel camera, Memory Stick Micro

removable storage, picture blogging and full HTML browser benefiting from HSDPA broadband speed.

The V640 is based on Sony Ericsson's Java

Platform 8 (JP-8), supporting Mobile Services Architecture (MSA) JSR 248, the next-generation Java umbrella standard. MSA aims to reduce fragmentation in the industry by creating a predictable environment for developers, reducing porting issues when developing new applications and games for the new generation of phones.

The V640 will be available exclusively in Vodafone stores during Q4 2007.
