The Java ME Executive Committee is a group of members guiding the development of Java technology and represents a cross-section of major stakeholders and other members of the Java community. This committee, part of the JCP, guides the development of and approves JSRs.
About Hanz Hager Hanz appreciates having the opportunity to serve in this way because it opens the door for him to "share thoughts and ideas with other industry peers" while learning more about Java and the goals of the other member companies. Moreover, it gives Sony Ericsson "insight into the process and an ability to influence." Hanz pays attention to what will help Java developers, and he is enthusiastic about reducing fragmentation in the Java Micro Edition (ME) industry. Hanz has been part of the JTWI (JSR 185) expert group and he now participates in the MSA (JSR 248/249) expert group. He has also been involved in Sony Ericsson's efforts to start the Java Verified program with its Unified Testing Initiative, which provides a framework for testing Java applications in the mobile space, and participates in the ongoing steering group for that effort. Hanz Hager, current Sony Ericsson representative on the Java ME Executive Committee.
Hanz Hager, Application Planner for Sony Ericsson, got involved when Sony Ericsson was elected to the Executive Committee in 2002. Hanz is responsible for the Sony Ericsson Java strategy, so he is a natural choice to serve as the primary representative on the Executive Committee.

: first implemented in Symbian OS
-based phones in 2003 but from 2005 also in a number of mass-market feature phones to enable PC connectivity from mobile Java applications, transfer files or data via Bluetooth to/from other devices and wireless multi-player gaming
