The new Wiki gives developers an opportunity to actively contribute to the Sony Ericsson Developer World community. We filled it with lots of articles to inspire registered members to get involved and since going live in October, new technical material has been added. Pal Szasz, who is an active member of the discussion forums with the username "Space2" and has recently reached the "Wizard" reward level, shares five new Wiki articles including posting four about Linux.

He explains how to get the Sony Ericsson Java ME Platform SDK and the popular Themes Creator and Bluetooth Remote Control tools running on Linux. In addition to outlining how to build UIQ 3 programs on Linux, he also shares instructions on how to remove video playback delays on the M600 and P990 UIQ 3-based phones.

Getting started with Wiki articles The Wiki is categorized into three main sections covering Java ME, Symbian OS/UIQ 3 and Media. Wiki articles can be read by all visitors to the Sony Ericsson Developer World web portal and editable by discussion forum members who have attained the Junior level or above. The Junior level is an achievable target of 20 reward points which is 2-4 rewarded replies. The more involved you get in the discussion forums, the quicker you can reach the Junior level and share your Wiki contributions with your peers. To help you start editing existing articles or posting new ones, a step-by-step guide is included in the Wiki. And to make sure that your Wiki experience is professional and productive, taking the lead from organizations such as Wikipedia where active participants are the editors, we've also set up some house rules.
