Sony Ericsson Developer Program Helped IM-Technologies From Being Stuck in Traffic

[Back]

Integrated Mobile Technologies specialize in business lifestyle products for mobile handsets. With the help and support of the Sony Ericsson Developer Program they have launched their mobile application Traffic-i.

Traffic-i shows live traffic information covering in excess of 8,000 miles of motorways and trunk roads in the United Kingdom in a clear graphical form. Within seconds of switching on the phone Traffic-i users can access high quality, traffic information from Trafficmaster, PLC who provides a nationwide picture of traffic conditions. Users can easily navigate around the UK and zoom into any specific area of interest to view traffic delays, which are displayed using high quality graphics, in either miles per hour, or by the number of minutes the delay will add to their journey. With five levels of zoom available, Traffic-i allows users to make informed decisions on their preferred route, based on current traffic conditions.

The Sony Ericsson Developer Program enabled IM-Technologies to increase their time to market with access to handsets and technical information as well as increase the awareness of their product with special events such as an invitation to demonstrate Traffic-i at the Symbian Exposium along with other marketing support efforts that included banner advertising on the Sony Ericsson website, www.sonyericsson.com/uk.

"With access to latest handsets for evaluation, quick responses to technical issues and being able to have them resolved in a timely fashion, the Sony Ericsson Developer Program has been a great benefit to our development team," commented Steve Holme, Technical Director. David James, Managing Director, adds, "The level of support and exposure that IM-Technologies has received from Sony Ericsson has been invaluable, with the advice from their marketing team being second to none."

Sony Ericsson is committed to finding and facilitating local applications and content development. By scouring the market for suitable partners, Sony Ericsson wanted to spark development of local content and applications for mobile phones. Consumers and carriers are looking for applications that can help them in their business and at play. As Traffic-i is the first of a new range of business lifestyle products from IM-Technologies, there is a clear market among business professionals for such products. With the help of the Sony Ericsson Development Program they are able to increase market awareness of Third party applications within the mobile phone industry.

"We are continuing to work closely with Sony Ericsson to enhance Traffic-i and to develop new and exciting business lifestyle applications," commented David James.
