Wrapping up Ericsson Mobility World Developer Days in APAC

[Back]

Sony Ericsson participated with regional speakers at some recent Ericsson Mobility World Developer Days in the APAC region.

At the two-day event in Cyberjaya, Malaysia on November 25-26th, about 200 developers, operators and media representatives attended. The event offered operators, developers and content providers an update on the predicted future of content-based services. In addition to building awareness and showing case references for the great potential in mobile media, the event featured presentations on how to encourage the creation of innovative ideas, especially in the area of multimedia and streaming-based applications. Media owners and content providers were invited so as to involve them in capitalizing on the opportunities of commercializing their content over the mobile platform.

The day-long seminar in Taipei, Taiwan on November 30th provided a platform for local developers, operators and the media to learn what is motivating and relevant in the Taiwanese market. More than 130 participants attended this event, including the Industrial Economic and Knowledge Center, part of Taiwan's government-sponsored Industrial Technology Research Institute. This important institute for developers supports the advancement of mobile internet services in Taiwan. The Developer Day in Taiwan acted as a bridge between developers and the institute, helping open doors to international sales strategy and planning.

Kai-Loong Tong, Senior Manager, Product Marketing of Sony Ericsson APAC, and one of the speakers at the APAC Developer Days said, "Regional developer events like these are an excellent opportunity for us to meet with local application and content developers as well as content representatives from the operators in the region. This gives us a chance to identify new potential partners for localized content. Sony Ericsson mainly made three points in its presentation here: Sony Ericsson is doing well and is growing, our product portfolio is strong with features such as the Java 3D game engine, and Sony Ericsson Developer World is the developer resource for technical and go-to-market support."

More information:

*Note that on slide 17 in the Sony Ericsson presentation it's supposed to say that Sony Ericsson has launched 6 Java 3D enabled phones (Sony Ericsson K700, K500, Z500, S700 series and the Vodafone-exclusive F500i and V800 phones), not just three.
