Sony Ericsson and NetBeans 4.1
 

 

 
One feature of the freshly announced NetBeans Mobility Pack 4.1 offers the ability to remotely control the Java Application Manager and manipulate the file system on Sony Ericsson Java technology enabled handsets from within the comfort of the NetBeans IDE.
 
 
The current list of features offered by the NetBeans Mobility Pack 4.1 includes:
  • Listing of all installed MIDlets
  • Starting, stopping, pausing and resuming execution of a MIDlet
  • Deleting installed MIDlets
  • Manually invoking garbage collection
  • Previewing MIDlet information
  • Manually deleting RMS entries
  • Local file system browsing and MIDlet installation
 
It is entirely connection independent, allowing you to use Bluetooth, infrared or any other means of phone to PC connection.
 
Please note that remote control of the Java Application Manager is not supported on Sony Ericsson P800, P900 or P910 series of smartphones.
