On June 13, 2005 at CommunicAsia in Singapore, Sony Ericsson announced three new Java 3D-enabled phones - the S600, Z520 and K608.
On the same day in New York, USA, the new W600 Walkman phone was revealed.
Combined with the earlier announcement on June 7 of the Vodafone exclusive V600i phone, these five phones increase the number of Sony Ericsson phones supporting Mascot Capsule v3 and JSR-184 to 19 in total. This broad portfolio of 3D game enabled phones ranges from the entry-level to high-end segments. |

W600: All-in-one Walkman phone for quality digital music and 3D gaming

The Sony Ericsson W600 is the second mobile Walkman phone. This unique, all-in-one device supports multiple music file formats (MP3 and ACC), a 1.3 MegaPixel still and video camera with 4x digital zoom, mobile Java 3D gaming and an HTML browser. A unique five-way navigation key and dedicated A/B gaming buttons add to the gaming experience.
The W600 Walkman phone comes packaged with Disc2Phone PC software for quick and convenient music transfer, as well as supporting Bluetooth, Infrared and USB system connectivity. The 256MB memory can store between 80 and 120 songs depending on bit rate. The 262k color, 176x220 pixel TFT display, Java MIDP 2.0 support and Java 3D game engine with cutting edge graphics facilitate high-quality multimedia and entertainment.

Z520: Compact, quad-band clamshell phone

The Sony Ericsson Z520 is a quad-band, clamshell phone with both internal and external screens and an ingenious caller-ID using perimeter flashing lights combined with music.
This Bluetooth-enabled phone comes in a variety of color schemes with additional Style-Up covers. The 4x digital-zoom VGA camera allows you to take still images and record video clips when the phone is open or closed.
The Z520 has two display screens - the main 128x160 pixel internal TFT display with 65k colors and the 101x80 pixel STN sub-display on the outside of the clamshell has 4k colors.
The phone supports Infrared and Bluetooth connectivity, Mobile Java 3D gaming and has 16MB memory.
