Sony Ericsson reserves the right for final approval or rejection.

The build refers to version details and build description refers to detailed description about that build. If you are submitting more than one build for the same application, then during the review process the build description is very important to understand the difference between the builds.
How can I get my Java application signed?
The JavaVerified™ program provides a single environment for the testing and certification of Java applications for mobile handsets.
Read more about JavaVerified>>
Visit the JavaVerified website>>
Applications can also be signed with VeriSign or Thawte certificates:
Do I have to sign my application before submission?
No, at submission your application can still be unsigned. Before the application is published at PlayNow™, it has to be signed if it uses any permission. The signing could still be done through Java Verified, but now also can be done with a certificate from VeriSign or Thawte.
How should an application be tested against UTC?
Firstly, the relevant UTC test cases need to be identified for the application in question. The developer can test in-house or employ an external test house to perform the testing.
Why has Sony Ericsson decided to allow Thawte and VeriSign signed applications to be submitted to “submit.sonyericsson.com” as well as Java Verified signed?
We have listened very closely to JavaME developers’ opinions and their experiences globally for us to evolve our offering. We are pleased to be able to work with the community to bring about this enhancement today.
Are there any differences between Java Verified Signed and Thawte and VeriSign certificates?
One important item to remember is that the VeriSign and Thawte certificates are not valid for as long a period of time as the UTI certificate. Sony Ericsson will remove the application from PNA when the certificate expires. The Thawte and VeriSign certificates are valid for between 1-3 years depending on the signing certificate you purchase as a developer.
What is the distribution of Thawte and VeriSign certificates compared to Java Verified (UTI certificate) on Sony Ericsson devices?
Sony Ericsson has installed VeriSign and Thawte certificates for many years and it is easy to check the availability of the certificates by looking at the Certificate Management area upon our devices. It is true to say that certain operator customers favour Java Verified certificates (UTI Certificate) above others and request this in branded devices.
But what about the quality of the applications that are not Java Verified?
All applications still have to be tested and pass the UTC (Unified Test Criteria), i.e. the same test criteria which all Java Verified applications have to fulfil. We recognise that it is important to empower the JavaME developer community with greater responsibility to assure that the application meets the UTC.
Will Sony Ericsson still continue to contribute with its UTI partner members and evolve the Java Verified program?
Absolutely, Sony Ericsson continues to be an active member of the Java Verified Program and will continue to bring forward developers requirements to enhance the offerings with our Industry partners.
