Anyone who develops mobile software is welcome to register and become a member of the Motricity Content Partner Program. The Motricity Content Partner Program enables you to focus your valuable resources on developing great applications. Motricity handles the marketing, selling and distribution of your software via its Mobile2Day software distribution company. With a robust e-payment system, they manage the credit card validation and processing. They collect payment from the Sony Ericsson customer upon purchase, or invoice the customer if necessary. Is there a fee?

Developers receive 70% of gross revenues (excluding taxes) for sales via credit/debit card through the Sony Ericsson Application Shop, and Sony Ericsson/Motricity covers all transaction, administration and processing fees. If you sell nothing, neither Motricity nor Sony Ericsson will earn anything. You have nothing to lose except the increased revenue you will earn by having your products available through the Sony Ericsson Application Shop and the rest of Motricity's global network of distribution channels.

 

How do I join?
Becoming a Motricity Content Partner is simple. First complete the registration form. Next, you will view the Software Distribution Agreement. Your information will be processed instantly, and you can begin adding products right away. Once you have established your account, you can access your account on the Mobile2Day website at any time with your username and password and upload your software applications. After a re-check, your product(s) will appear on the Sony Ericsson Application Shop site and search engine within just a few hours - ready for sale!

 

Here's an overview of the process managed on the Mobile2Day website:

 

Step 1: Enter product information
Click on "add software entries" in the menu and fill in the relevant information in the following registration form. The number of forms depends on freeware or shareware and/or if you want to sell your software on the Sony Ericsson Application Shop or not. The system will navigate you through the registration process, and you will only be asked to enter information about your specific software.

 

Step 2: Product overview and recheck
When you have finished entering the information, the product overview will appear. You are now able to recheck the information. If any information is missing, the system will inform you of which details are still needed.

 

Step 3: Activate the application
When you have filled in all required information, you can activate your application. A symbol will now show you that the product is waiting for activation.

 

Ready for activation
After you have activated your application, it will be forwarded to the Motricity editorial system. Motricity will now check the information within 24 hours and add the program to the Sony Ericsson Application Shop product catalog.

 

Once the product is activated, to have it sold on the Application Shop you will need to:

 

1. Get the application Symbian Signed.
2. Email developer@mobile2day.de with the product name, product ID and proof of its Symbian Signed status.
3. Your application will be passed to Motricity's content managers  who will ensure your application is made commercially available from the Application Shop.
