Playman Extreme Running

This game, from the popular Playman Sports series, was made by Mr Goodliving™, a fully owned subsidiary of RealNetworks® inc which develops and publishes games for mobile phones. Based on parkour and free running, it won the award for its graphics and intuitive gameplay. RealNetworks® inc are already a key development partner of Sony Ericsson so have, and will continue, to develop many popular games for Sony Ericsson handsets.

PullFace Image Manipulator

Made by BitCycle, more than 70, 000 people have bought this picture manipulation program so far. Using a simple cursor, the user can take any part of an image and mould it freely. One of last year’s award judges stated: “It’ll make you smile continuously while you’re using it”. BitCycle’s goal was to give the user control and room for creativity, compared with other products available on the market.

The Geeks

Stockholm-based companies Metronize and Bruket 3D Animation took the award for Themes & Graphics with The Geeks – a Pixar inspired fictional band. Mobile proved to be the perfect platform for ‘The Geeks’, and their mini-movies have been downloaded to thousands of handsets from the 'Fun and Downloads' area of the Sony Ericsson site. The band now has a huge following and even has a fan-base on MySpace.

TrackID™

The TrackID™ music recognition service is powered by Gracenote Mobile MusicID. TrackID™ records a few seconds of a track from the radio or the phone's microphone, sends the track to the comprehensive Gracenote music database for identification and returns the information to the phone. Once the track is identified, the phone also includes an integrated download service so there is no need to exit the music player to access the web browser to visit on-line music stores.
