Below are the Rules for the Sony Ericsson Content Awards 2008 competition, please read them carefully before submitting an entry. You are also required to review the Terms and Conditions prior to submitting an entry.
To be eligible for the Competition, all entries must be submitted in electronic form via the submission tool at Sony Ericsson Content Awards official website: http://developer.sonyericsson.com/contentawards.
The competition starts on September 18, 2008 and will end on February 5, 2009. Last day for entering submissions will be November 30, 2008, the exception is submissions for the category Xperia Panels where the last day of submission is January 30, 2009.
The Competition is open only to registered legal entities, excluding any of the affiliated companies of the Organizer. You must be authorized to represent a registered legal entity to participate in this Competition on behalf of the legal entity in question ("Participant"). Further, any legal entities which the employees of Organizer, their immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and/or household members have majority ownership of or otherwise control, may not participate in the Competition.
Individual persons are not eligible to participate in the Competition, however as of November 20, 2008 private individuals can enter the competition only in the category; Xperia panels.
To be eligible for the contest, participants shall develop applications or services for Sony Ericsson phones which must be an original work of authorship, run on at least one of the specified Sony Ericsson device build on platforms Java Platform 7, Java Platform 8, UIQ 3.0 and Windows Mobile 6.1.
Your submission must include:
- Title name of the application/content
- Screen shot (jpeg, gif or animated gif format)
- Description of 50 words or less of the application/content/service
- Description of the company and the developer team of 50 words or less
- Classification in one of the defined categories
- Competition Entries must consist only of Participant's own original work product
- All Competition Entries must be new to the Competition
- All Competition Entries must be made in the English language
- The competing application/content
a) Applications must be submitted as an installation file (JAR for Java applications, SIS for UIQ applications and CAB for XPERIA⢠Panels). The installer must include a free trial version (for distribution at the discretion of Sony Ericsson for maximum sixty (60) days) of the application which must run on either Java Platform 7, Java Platform 8, UIQ 3.0 or Windows Mobile 6.1.
b) Other content types must be submitted including all relevant files (e.g. images or flash files etc).
