Ringtone: Can not use this file

on W518aI have a M4A ringtone. If I access it through My Staff/Music/Ringtones it plays fine

But when I try to set this file as ringtone (Settings/Sounds&Alerts/Ringtone), phone responds "Can not use this file"

Why would it refuse to set a ringtone?

Satio- Standby theme

Can you change the main items which are displayed in the standby theme?

I selected "Sony ericsson" standby theme but I do not want the "Recent Pictures" tab on it.

Is there a way to get rid of that tab while keeping the rest of the tabs?

Equalizer for Satio

I'm interested in developing a equalizer for the Satio mobile. Is it possible to make an extension/module for the existing music player on Satio or do you need create an entirely new music player application?

What would be the best approach to achieve this? Which language would you recommend? I'm confident in java and c#.

Unable to play window media video file with W705 (JP-8.4 based phone)

Hi All,

I get confused with spec from new sony ericsson phone (W705) which state that it can play window media file such as .wmv and .asf.

Unfortunetly I try it yesterday and find that both file are unknown format.

I try both with media player and playArena and both fail to recoignize the file.

Do I need to install any codec in phone ?

Hello everybody, I short of English so I will make short, viewing the developer web of Sony Ericsson, and go to flash lite docs and tools, I see this section:http://developer.sonyericsson.com/site/global/docstools/flashlite/p_flashlite.jsp and go on the section "Videos" with a video inside, but I read in top of the video this:"Please note: Certain items presented in this video are locked – such as building the Desktop screen in Flash Lite – and can only accessed with Sony Ericsson's permission" and I think about this permission it talks, but i dont understand very well about what it is, but, I understand it some about customs desktop themes like a menu made in flash lite 1.1 but it say I only can access with Sony Ericsson's permission, so I want to know about this permission, when I say about I want to know how I can get it, and where i can, its only that, I mean, I really want to made custom flash lite menus for my Sony Ericsson Walckman 580i, but I don't know about that permission, and how to import it or link it in the theme for the phone, so thanks to all who say some about, well see you later

Streaming audio playlists

Hi!

Is there anyone here who has experience of a generic way of streaming playlists to later 3G models of Sony Ericsson? What we are trying to do is to let users create a playlist on a mobile internet page and then be able to play back that playlist on the phone. Now, streaming single songs works like a charm but we haven't found a way of supporting playlists. The last attempt we did was sending a RAM file listing the URLs of the single tracks. The mediaplayer interprets this correctly as a mediafile but does only play the first clip in the list and then stops.

So, to my questions:

1. Is there a generic format for the playlists that I create in the native mediaplayer?

2. Can this playlist format (if it exists) only play music stored on the phone or can it reference a URL and stream content?

Would very much appreciate any feedback.

Shuffle feature on W980

The shuffle feature is awkward to use and the only way to tell if I have shaken the phone correctly is to select the next track - losing the track I am playing.

Also - It doesn't appear to be a true shuffle feature as it seems to move to a random track (good) but then resumes playing the list from that track (bad).

Is there a menu option to select shuffle without going through the laborious shaking of the phone then selecting the next track to check it worked?

Is there a way to proceed through a playlist in a completely random order.

When I am driving I want to listen to the tracks randomly and consider it TOO dangerous to have to pick up the phone and start shaking it.

Shaking the phone may be a nice gimmick but it is awkward and potentially dangerous to use. It also seems to be a bit pointless to have to press the stop button and shake the phone in a particular direction to get the next track when the 'select next track' is next to the stop button!!!!!

I cannot get the volume to change no matter how I shake the phone.

But my major concern is just to get tracks to play in a random order. I got this phone as I liked the idea of the FM transmitter whle driving. Am I going to have to get an MP3 player with seperate transmitter to be able to do this??????

I do like so many features on this phone but the one feature that persuaded me to get this one over any other appears to be unworkable.

Am, I missing something?

Theme Creator 4.0 for Mac / T707 not included in 4.01?

I can't find the link to download TC 4.0 for Mac (only seen the windows one) although in the release notes for April 2009, there is mention of 4.0 for Mac. Is the mac version released for download yet?

I want to create a theme for T707 but can't find it in the windows version of the theme creator version 4.01. When will it be added?

The above code returns null in case of P1i.
