Description: A description of the bug and what actions or circumstance that causes the bug to reveal it self.

Phones: Which phone models has the bug OR if it is a bug in the SDK or some tool.

Firmware: Which firmware on the phone/phones that has the bug.

Hello!

I've got a question regarding the tool-development for Sony Ericsson mobiles.

Is it possible to code a tool that..

- opens a connection via gprs

- loads a page with specified parameters, e.g. example.com/load.php?param1=x&param2=y

- reads the answer

- closes the gprs connection

I've never coded stuff in JavaME and have no experience in coding for mobile devices at all. But I'm familiar with Java and a bunch of other languages, the coding thing won't be a problem.

But I don't know if the gprs-thing is possible at all. Are there any libraries that can establish a gprs-connection on a Sony Ericsson mobile? Especially on the c510.

How would you do that?

edit: oh, I forgot, the php page is protected by an htaccess password protection. The account data should be entered automatically, but this is optional. For now, the gprs thing is of more importance.

Our submission was rejected and it would certainly be important for us to understand what has been the problem. How can I get any kind of feedback on rejection? Without feedback we obviously can't do anything and just need to leave it and sell it elsewhere, but also in this case I would like to hear it at first.

Ringtone: Can not use this file

on W518aI have a M4A ringtone. If I access it through My Staff/Music/Ringtones it plays fine

But when I try to set this file as ringtone (Settings/Sounds&Alerts/Ringtone), phone responds "Can not use this file"

Why would it refuse to set a ringtone?

Is there an application that does in Wifi what PAN Network Access Point Profile does in bluetooth ?

I know it for Android , iphone, symbian and windows mobile, but not for recent Sony-Ericsson models like W715, W995 and other 20 models with Wifi and 3G

It's really interresting for people to connect psp, ipod touch , netbooks to internet everywhere through the phone.

Does it exist already ?

I just purchased a g705 because it has native SIP, but what does the phone actually do with these settings? I've put all the correct information in the SIP settings but I can find no documentation on what to do after this. The phone doesn't give me any indication that the SIP settings have been applied or anything.

Searching online has yielded nothing, and it's getting frustrating.

Does anyone here on the devleoper's site know what I'm talking about? The goal is to ditch my carrier and just use the native SIP over WiFi. I've tried every java SIP client available but all of them require a mobile number to "call back" in order to receive or send SIP calls. This is counter intuitive with a phone that supposedly supports SIP natively..

I have not found any mention of DRM protection for paid apps downloaded from the store. Is there any?

Nokia has implemented OMA DRM 1.0 in the Ovi Store which attempts to prevent users from copying and distribution "forward locked" content. This scheme is so inadequate that the developers are withholding content because of the well-founded fear that their signed apps will immediately be pirated and distributed freely across the internet. But at least Nokia was aware of the issue, provided an initial solution, and is now busily considering how to improve the situation.

Is it possible that SE has not even addressed the issue at all?

Hi , I have been using T700 for 9 months. I tried to update the firmware thru Update Service but I can't even do that. Whenever I tries to connect by pressing C Key (as per the instructions in Update service) it goes to Mass Storage mode. No problem with USB cable or ports. I tried to connect several times but the same thing happens . If someone has any solutions pls suggest one....! Pls Help

This seems to becoming a real knightmare for people with all various answers to the same question.

Can I propose we make it simple?

Has anyone sucessfully been able to use MP3 files as ringtone`s on their v800 that were copied or bluetoothed to the phone?

Can somone post the link for the latest DRM file which works for the V800?

Would someone be kind enough to explain how to use the file for those slightly less intilligent in order to make us all happy?

Fianally if anyone does manage to achieve this I would like to express my personal gratitude as it's become a right pain in a*rse for me personally

I would like to know which phone has the capability of having 2 SIMs active at the same time (ie will work/send/receive calls/messages) without any switching or deactivating the other network/SIM. K810i BUGs and Problems

I own 2 K810i, and i have some problems with them. So far i have found 4:

1. White Balance is awful - K750i was much better

2. Sometimes (very rarely) camera returns to standby - this is caused by compression of the JPEG - too much detail

3. In VideoPlayer when playing a file that is longer than 30 seconds, after file is played, the screen goes to sleep mode (display is off), but next video is playing (audio continues to play - i have to press a key, so lights+screen turn on again)

4. My dad bought a 2GB sandisk M2 card - saving pictures takes up to 25 seconds!! when time and date are on!!! - if not, it saves in 2-3 seconds

I am not satisfied with the phones camera. K800i takes better pictures... These 2 phones use some kind of layer/mask - they don't use pure pixels anymore (like the k750i that had very good details - k800\810 takes pix like nokias now: looks like a painting, a sketch)

It would be nice to fix these BUGs.

Satio driver problem

As a long time Ericsson - Sony Ericsson user and current owner of this wonderful phone I'm starting this thread in order to gather all those bugs and features request you may find and get in this phone. Please post everything you may find relevant and be realistic, we can't ask for features not possible to implement due hardware restrictions.

1. Please give us clock in standby, it is very useful feature and I really can't believe it is removed because of battery saving.

2. Please can we use low battery LED signaling for something else, when we miss call or message could this LED flash all time until we acknowledge it ? This is EXTREMELY useful for us for numerity of reasons and I HOPE this feature will be implemented in all SE phones in future, it's hard to imagine why it isn't available already

3. Why this phone doesn't have full e-AAC, AAC+ support as it is Walkman phone and his younger brother W710i already have this features which is really strange to me ?

4. When we open movie in folder other than "Videos" it is not possible to fast forward, can this be corrected in future versions of firmware?

5. Can we please turn off this annoying sound when battery is low?

Please keep your posts as simple as possible and only W810i specific, hopefully we may get some answers and solutions.

1) On loading the file manager I keep getting the following error message. It also happens when Im clicking anything in Pc suite

S700i Firmware update

Hi,

I am a (slightly disgruntled) owner of a S700i branded to Vodafone. Whilst I don`t mind the VF stuff on the phone I DO mind the fact that at present there is no way to use mp3's as ringtones. I spoke to VF and to get the Firmware changed/ updated you need to take the handset into a store and send it off.

The lead time is 3 WEEKS!!! As I can neither afford, nor wish to be without a handset for 3 weeks my question is this:

Can I download a Firmware update from the SE Developer site and upload to my phone via a data cable? This seems the simplest and quickest method but I cannot find any information anywhere about Firmware or transfer on this site.

Help please, I really don't want to wait 3 weeks (possibly more) just to enable this function and naturally I'm reluctant to 'unlock' my phone via one of these on-line sites in case I render it useless.

Problems with PC Suite and WFP2N.dll

Hello,

I recently installed the most current version of PC Suite (4.006.00) on my Windows Vista laptop and am attempting to use it with my SE w580i.

Though the program installed correctly, when attempting to

connect through either USB or bluetooth, I get the following error

message popup in a window entitled "Communication":

"WFP2N.dll IS BAD"

There is the option to click Ok and close the window, but

nothing seems to happen once it is done. The phone refuses to connect

in any of the tools or editor menus

I am not sure if this related, but the program seems to require

that the drivers for the phone be installed everytime the phone is

connected.

Any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if there is any more information needed.

Given a K850i for the service at Delhi, India and got it back after 15 Days and Guess, the problems are as it was before. Again submitted the handset and I don not got it back for 2.5 months. Whenever I call to customer care they says, it will not take more tha 3-4 days. since 1.5 months. I am very pleased with the service quality of Such a Giant company in mobile telecommunication. I given the handset to the service center located at new delhi, India.
I don't know even when I will get it back in my hand.

Open Letter to Sony Ericsson (regarding M600i)

As a user of the Sony Ericsson M600i Smartphone, I'm really disappointed with Sony Ericsson's policy of ignoring customer complaints. I know I speak for many M600i users in that we have come across too many bugs with the phone's firmware that would invalidate your company's statement that "a firmware update for the M600 is not considered necessary."

Discontinuing firmware support within a year's time of a phone's release is POOR customer support. If Sony Ericsson wishes to compete with Nokia, you have a long ways to go. Nokia consistently updates the firmware of its phones; and in some cases, extends firmware support for up to 2 years after the initial product launch in order to address bugs from customer complaints.

If Sony Ericsson is really interested in listening to its customers and cultivating customer loyalty, I would highly recommend that both customer support and development teams read the following forums on a daily basis:

We are passionate about our phones! In the forums, we frequently discuss and share ways to enhance the usage of our phones, suggest new ideas, and document what we believe to be good and bad with our phones.

We want to use our expertise to help Sony Ericsson become the "most attractive and innovative global brand in the mobile handset industry." However, we cannot do this if Sony Ericsson will not acknowledge or listen to our complaints and suggestions.

I'm afraid that if this behavior continues from Sony Ericsson, we will be forced to recommend that our friends and family members NOT purchase Sony Ericsson phones. We simply cannot recommend a phone from a company that abandons its customers and leaves us with buggy/defective phones.

1. when i try to open games or application list from desktop, the phone display "operation failed"

Trying to get an internet-connection with my PocketPC via BT through the SE V800. It`s not possible with GSM or with UMTS/GPRS - the phone is simply doing nothing. BT-pairing did work, other devices work perfectly (e.g. headset), BT-settings on the PPC are correct (cause it works with a Nokia 3650 over GSM), and other BT-services also work without any problems (e.g. OBEX file / object transfer).

Toshiba e800 BT german

OS Windows Mobile 2003 SE german

Toshiba Bluetooth Stack 5.01

T610 software bug- automatic tones in calling card

The T610 software bug I am having problem with is the calling card feature. The T610 sends off the verification / PIN number and phone number automatically without waiting for user input. This causes problems with the slow menu of quot[/quot]Interactive Voice Response System[quot][/quot] (IVRS) used by the calling card companies - by the time the prompt says to input the PIN number, the T610 has already sent the tones for both the PIN/verification number and the phone number. This is quite a bug - I am actually unable to use the calling cards for calling to various places.

The second bug is again in the calling card feature. The language selection feature used by the IVRS of calling card companies requires you to press quot[/quot]1[quot][/quot] for English, quot[/quot]2[quot][/quot] for Espanol and so on.... T610 does not allow user input while the calling card feature is being used to place the call. This bug in the calling card feature does not allow language seletion.

In contrast, my Nokia 3390/3310 allows beautiful use of calling card features, waiting for the user to send the tones by pressing quot[/quot]OK[quot][/quot] key, and also allows sending of DTMF tones to enable language selection. I actually have to switch the SIM card to Nokia, whenever I want to make an international call using calling card function. As you can see, this is very annoying, as I use the T610 as my primary cellphone.

I am not sure how this problem will get solved. Please help correct the software bug. T-mobile and SE Customer care have washed their hands off the problem, saying that the developer world section on SonyEricsson.com should be contacted. If somebody can notify the actual developer of SE T610 phone, that would be nice.

P990i with the latest firmware, latest PC Suite, Outlook 2003, when I try to synchronize it, I receive an error: Synchronisation failed.

I've tried to sync. the phone on my 2nd laptop, works OK.

Uninstalled PC Suite, rebooted, re-installed, did a master reset of the phone, re-upgraded to the latest firmware, doesn't help.

I'm sure the problem is my laptop, but don't know what.

T610 restarts when some device sends files to it

T610 restarts when another device sends files to it via IR or BT.

I can successfully send files (contacts, pictures, melodies and so on) from my T610 to another device (mobile phone or PC) via IR or BT. But when some device (mobile phone or PC) tries to send file (contact, picture, melody) to my T610 via IR or BT, it begin cyclically to restart and shutdown. This process stops only when I disconnect battery and connect it again. Nevetheless my T610 can successfully make bidirectional data transmission. For example it works fine as IR modem. Also I successfully connected my T610 to T630 via BT and got pictures and melodies from it but only when my phone requests a file transfer. When T630 initiates file transfer to T610, my phone begin cyclically to restart and shutdown.

What causes Gif Image to not be displayed?

I have an XHTML page that shows random images. On the T637 some of the images are displayed and some are not. At first I thought size was the only factor but apparently that is not the case. I have two images. The first one is 15,000 bytes and the second is 10,000. The 10,000 byte image is not displayed on the page but the 15,000 one is shows up just fine. Its not dimensions either - the 15,000 one has larger dimensions.

Could it be something with the colors used in the smaller image? If I change the image to grayscale it shows up.

Also - if I put this image on a link (for download) I get the following error clicking on the link:

A communicatoin error has occured. Try again or contact your WAP Service Provider.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

DRM Seperate Distribution Rights Transport

After using the DRM packager, there is a contents file and a rights file. I upload the contents to my phone (V802SE) and try to activate, it says `connection failed'. same if the rights file is uploaded with the contents.

When creating the file there are several fields such as 'rights provider' and 'icon uri', these are web links by default.

My question is how can I create files using the seperate delivery method so that after upload, the contents file can be activated without connecting to the internet to get the rights?

If that is not possible, is there documentation or perhaps a basic test page which i can use for the transportation of the rights file to my phone?

K700i E-Mail TLS/SLL specifics

Hello,

I just got my K700i today and to my great surprise I noticed that the email client supported TLS/SSL!

However, I have a problem.

All seem to configure properly, I select TLS/SSL on incoming server and the port is set correctly to 993 (imap).

As domain, I tried leaving this blank and also inserting the correct one (as far as I know this shouldn`t be needed).

When doing a send and receive I get the error quot[/quot]TLS/SSL unsupported certificate[quot][/quot].

The mail server is a standard IMAP4 server with a 1024 bit certificate. I have no problems connecting to this from other TLS/SSL enabled phone or e-mail programs.

The server is using an internally signed certificate, which means it doesn't come from a trusted authority. The phone does not ask me to accept it however, it just states the above message and stops the command.

Where can I find details about this function in the K700? I cannot seem to find it anywhere.

My question now is how can I get back the message alert tone from my Z600, this is the only headache I have, I already download free themes, games, and ring tones from different site and have it via bluetooth to my cellphone. However, I can`t see any links for the message alert tone.

I tried to update the FW on my K700i (from R2J015). I installed the drivers for the DSS-25, docked the K700i handset, and followed the instructions at the update service website:

HOWEVER, this was all for naught because the update service said my operator did not permit upgrades. I tried using a SIM from another operator (my K700i is not locked), and that didn`t work either.

So what operators have given permission to update?

Unless my phone is locked, why does this matter anyway? Is there a workaround? How CAN I update the firmware?

Any advice would be appreciated.

UGLY Wap browsing with the V800

I have 4 UMTS phones. I use orange in france. When I connect through wap to orange homepage with my new v800, the pages look monochrome with only underlined text icons (text on left of screen). My other phones, not sony, show me the homepage like a pc browser with images and colour.

all the settings are good, including show images, sounds, etc.

I love the v800 but the wap is acting old style, can anyone help?

Hi. I purchased a W200 back in June 07 and have noticed that the W200 is built upon the same body chassis as K510, K310, and K320. I was wondering whether it is possible to change the UBC LCD screen on the W200 with one from a K510 (the 256K TFT LCD)? I can take the phone apart no problems, but I was wondering if there are stuff like display drivers that I may need to change, or will the W200 simply start displaying 256K colours as soon as it is fitted with the new TFT LCD? I am pretty sure that it will be compatible because both LCD have same resolution and fitted into the same body... Just not sure if a driver is needed and whether the voltage/current usage is the same with both UBC and TFT...

Also, I was wondering I can change the camera from the W200 to the one from K510? The K510 camera module (I think) is detachable as well as the one from the W200. Just wondering, will this process be possible? I know that the camera requires a driver, which I can manage...

Mac OS X Synchronzation with T637

Hello all,

Just got off the phone with SE tech support, and after being unable to resolve my issues, they suggested I come here to see if anyone had any thoughts about the problems I`m seeing.

I bought my T637 two days ago, replacing a Nokia 3600, since I was looking for something smaller with a similar feature set... Most everything looks pretty good, and it's definitely a nice phone, but contact management seems to be at best, half-implemented. Problems start right after synching, and after discussion with tech support seem to come from some disconnects between vCards and the way contacts are stored on the phone.

First off, it appears that the contact database on the phone only supports five fields per contact: Name, Home, Work, Mobile and Email. This is extremely unfortunate, given that for the couple of vCard based address management apps I've used (currently Apple's Address Book) support a variety of user-defined fields. So, for example, a lot of my contacts have a Main phone number, which either doesn't make it to the phone via syncing, or isn't displayed once there. My biggest issue in this regard is that the physical address field doesn't come through. As you might imagine, this is very handy when you're looking for a friends place, and can't quite remember the building number....

Second, there's some odd behaviour w.r.t company names. Many of contacts in OS X Address Book have Company Names with them. If I edit the contact on the phone, only the five fields listed above appear, and Company Name is not present. However, if I'm viewing the list of contacts, any contact I have that has a Company Name set comes up with the company name appended to their own name. So my good friend John Doe who works at Acme comes up as: John Doe Acme. A bit ugly looking, especially this usually means the name is longer than the screen width, which in turn means the phone will try to 'help' by scrolling the name left and right. Possibly the actual SE syncing software (PC only, of course, so not useful to me....) trims Company Names from vCards before syncing? Or does this problem happen for people in the Windows world as well? Otherwise, the only way to deal with this seems to be removing, by hand, the company name from all my vCards. Obviously not a good option.

Third, is more of a general issue with the contact list. The single character searching for a contact can be quite painful. Think about this... The phone can hold 500 contacts. Assuming I've filled up that space, and these people are evenly distributed across the alphabet, that means for each letter of the alphabet I've got just under 20 names. That means that I may have to scroll through 20 names to get to the person I'm calling.

In practice of course, some letters are much more commonly used (I've only got two Z's in there), meaning for some letters I'd have to scroll through many more to get to where I'm going! If I could type in one letter, then a second to continue narrowing down the search, I'd have to scroll much less. My first way of resolving this is by only syncing a subset of my addresses to my phone, which means I'm now maintaining a new artficial list of addresses. The next step, I suppose, would be setting up voice dialing for as many people as I have the patience for...

There's a couple of reasons I'm posting:

1) To see if anyone has immediate workarounds for these issues.

2) Tech support was unable to give me any sense of whether these are issues that are getting fixed, and if so when, or if SE isn't going to bother. They said I could get that answer here.

I'd appreciate any advice that people can give, so I can make my decision about going back to my Nokia or not!

I've got come pictures in my PC. I need to transfer this to Phone. I bought a DCU-11 USB cable for this purpose.

I connected Phone to PC with this. I've the sony ericsson image editor software. But the download button in this is greyed out.

It says No T230 series detected.

I've installed the CD provided with the data cable. Also enabled COM3 for this.

Z1010 Bluetooth Pairing with CE device?

I`ve been using Ericsson and Sony Ericsson devices for a while now (eg T39, T68i, T300, T610, P800, P900), but am having trouble with a new Z1010 that I got today.

In the past, I would follow the steps below to get a pairing between the handheld PC we use and the phone:

(1) Go into Bluetooth on the phone and make it discoverable

(2) Start a scan on the handheld PC, select the phone when it's discovered, and choose the option that says the device requires authentication.

(3) I would then go into the Add Bluetooth device/connection option on the phone, and select quot[/quot]Phone accepts[quot][/quot] - ie the phone is to accept any incoming authentication request.

(4) I would then set a PIN (eg 1234) on the dialog that had popped up on the handheld PC, then click OK.

(5) The phone would then prompt me to accept the new device, and I would then have to key in the corresponding PIN.

This all worked perfectly with earlier models, but I now can't get the handheld PC to talk to the Z1010.

There doesn't seem to be an option now to set the phone into a mode to accept authentication requests.

My questions are

Q1: Does the (or should the) phone now automatically be in that mode (provided Bluetooth is on)?

Q2: What Bluetooth spec does the Z1010 adher to?

AT+CLCK don't return the current keylock (K700i)

how can i retrieve the current keylock state. Normaly the command atclck=[quot][/quot]CS[quot][/quot],2 queries the current status, but it always returns 0. Another try to disable the keylock with atclck=[quot][/quot]CS[quot][/quot],0 gives me a quot[/quot]ok[quot][/quot] return but the keylock is still active in the mobile (K700)

How can i get the current keylock status???

1. There is a bug when plaing VBR mp3s in the player. Progress bar shows strange values of plaing progress. Sometimes it show about 5% of the song when it is played about the end and sometimes the progress about 100% when a song only starting the playing.

2. When i visit the page http://climate.sergiusd.ru/ using internal web brouser it always crashing the phone, the screen is blank white and then the phone restarts.

3. It's not a bug but I think it may be more correct to append mp3s to playlist orering not only bu song title, but albom name first. I don't like when I alboms mixed in playlist.

And another question is about Settings/Connectivity/Internet settings/Security/Client certificates. What is it? And how certificates can be appended here? Is it possible to use this certificate to manage security of Java applications? If not how can be Java certificate appended?

Firstly, I'm no developer, I'm an IT admin guy. My company uses a bluetooth advertising solution to push adverts out to our customers. In the last week, we've had four customers report that receiving these ads has "bricked" their phone. All four were using Sony Ericsson mobiles. The phones pop a message asking whether or not to accept the jpg. The user accepts the image, views it then deletes the image. At this point the phone shuts down and will not start up again. All four phones have had to be sent back for repair.

I haven't seen any of these phones, I'm going on second hand information. Anyone got any idea what could be going on here? Does this sound even likely?

Unstable Voice Transmission on S700

To all S700 users,

Three days after the release of the S700 (September 24th) I collected the S700 from an authorized mobile phone service provider in Hong Kong. A strange, irritating and annoying clicking sound emit from the ear-piece and at the same time, the party on line could just hear my voice faintly, at a much reduced volume. It all sounded extremely unstable, even though I was stationary and away from any electrical source.

I returned the phone to HK SE Service Centre and demand an explanation or at least rectified the problem. Even the service staff noticed this problem but admitted that it could be caused by electrical interference. After leaving the S700 to rectify by their technician, I collected the phone the following day. They told me they have reloaded the firmware and return the S700 to me without any charges. As soon as I make phone calls from the S700, the same annoying clicking and unstable voice transmission returned. Again, I returned the S700 for the second time. This time I demanded to replace this S700, SE HK duly provided me with a brand new S700.

I would have thought that’s the end of the story but I was too early to be happy. This second S700 have the same identical problem and unstable voice transmission, no different to the first one I paid money for. Two out of two concluded that this first shipment of S700 got to have something within and unless you stand up and voice out, SE will go unnoticed. They will then quietly announce a firmware upgrade and hopefully other users will be happy to upload without further questioning.

The point I tried to make known to users of S700 in this forum is whether they too, noticed these annoying clicking sound and unstable, irregular pattern during transmission (much noticed by the party you call) and come forward to get SE to admit this bug or design fault. For me, two out of two original SE S700 using two different service provider SIM cards, resulting with identical problem, is no pure co-incidence or simply stroke of luck (unlucky) from mobile phone giant – Sony Ericsson, I rest my case.

Anyone heard of electrical interference on a mobile phone? By the way, the microphone on the S700 is EXTREMELY sensitive, it amplifies many folds of your surrounding noise, so loud amp[/amp] noisy that parties I called, asked me to return call using another phone or find somewhere to shield out the noise. What a joke!!! One more tip, DO NOT get replacement phone from SE Service Centre, they don’t come in an original box. Which means the box your first phone comes with, the S/N and other codes will be different to the replacement, and render your mobile as second-hand. This I learnt today and deeply regret I made the move. I now have a noisy useless second hand S700 (since Sept. 24, 2004) and accept the fact the resale value will drop immensely.

Finally, would I recommend this S700? The answer is simply test it out thoroughly before you give them your hard-earned money. SE wants to sell phone, no one wants to admit their wrongs.

What do you think if Sony Ericsson has remake all of the 180° swivel design phone and include the high end technology in them?

It would be very nice if Sony Ericsson could add support for making quick calls to .tel domains from the phonebook, right now it first launches the full webbrowser which is very slow and overkill.

It should recognize an web entry in the phonebook that ends with .tel and just display the phonenrs on the .tel site.

With support for .tel you never need to update your phonebook on any company or person that have a .tel name and vice versa.

Voice volume is too low on T616

I found the voice volume is too low on T616 even on the maximum setting, especially when in a conversation with another GSM phone. Landline is better, but not sufficient.

Is there any option to increase the volume?

T700 many problems - Do something SE

I bought T700 for almost 3 months. T700 is one of my 6 models of SE i have ever used. I am not newbie for SE.

Phone: T700

Software version: "1209-9073 R3DA032 081002"

I used SEUS to updated T700 to latest version always but...

My problems are description belows:

1. T700 will auto soft reset if i play music or radio continuously for 1 hour or more, sometime just 40 minutes ! or less

2. T700 "Shortcut Key" will not work anymore ! if I access menu and do something such as goto "Settings "and do something (I am not sure)

I am not sure what i have done in "Settings" but then Shortcut key can't be used . "I have to shut down and start T700 again to solve problem"

Furthermore, I am sure there are many ways to press button to do somethings in some sub-menu to have "Shortcut Key don't work problem"

It happens, may be 5 or 6 times since i bought this phone

3. T700 will auto soft reset while i am connected and using bluetooth headset SE, HBH PV-740 (Expensive one with problem ?)

This problem happens 2 times since i used with HBH PV-740

4. T700 will hang at "HBH PV-740 disconnecting" (something like that i don't remember "words" exactly) for 10 minutes....

I don't want to wait for disconnecting anymore, so i have to "remove battery, put it back, and start T700 again"

I have to... because it hang like that. No any key can press and do things !

Note: soft reset = auto restart or sometime just shutdown no start again !

Love u SE, but now your software & T700 make me feel bad

Do something - Check T700 hardware - Check Software version PLEASE

If possible, release new software version that solve problems A.S.A.P.

Note: In my country, more than 20 persons post similar problems in local webboard

Hi!

I have a Sony Ericsson W610i unit. I used to save SMS messages thru the Sony PC Suite... I am facing problems right now with the current PC Suite I"m using, it's version 4.010.00. Before, even though i have deleted the SMS messages in my phone, when i connect to the PC Suite, the deleted messages will still appear (both in the inbox and sent items folders), that's why i can still save them but on txt file formal already. But now, when I connect my phone to the PC Suite, it'll no longer show my deleted messages and I really really need to accesss those deleted messages for I have accidentally deleted some messages that are very essential.

Will somebody please shed some light as to how I'll be able to fix this problem? Please do help me...

K850i shortcut key malfunctioning, help?

The center touch sensitive shortcut key, will automaticly "press" itself. THis is a big pain for writing messages, making calls, or any data entry into the phone. I have tried cleaning the phone, pulling the battery out, and just doing a general restart. Any sugestions?? This is really frustrating

How to do a hard reset in M600i???

I´ve just installed a ICP (sip stack) and one ICP adapter for the server in my M600i phone memory (not memory stick). I

need this applications installed before installing and running one Midlet

applciation in my M600i. With the first .sis file there was no problem but

with te ICPAdapterserver.sis i had some problems. A screen appeared telling

me that i was not allowed with my certificate to continue with the

installation (maybe i need a signature?????).

After that, i shut down the phone and when i switched it on again, after

introduce my pin code, this message appeared in a devices window:

Reason code: kern exec

Reason number: 0

Before that a couple of screens with other errors are displayed but i

can´t read them cuz they dissapeared so quickly (Main, WatcherThreadListen). I also think that in IMS

settings i activated the autolaunch and the parameters to do the register in

the network are not corrected (IP server address). So i think the problem is

trying to connect to the network (register message). And i can´t go out of this

screen. In addition the phone restarts itself in a few seconds.

I think that the problem is in the phone memory. Can i reflash this memory???? I can use Da Vinvi or SEUS??

How can i do a hard reset?? Is it possible to do with the phone switched off???

Any suggestion??? I have to fix it as fast as i can

Refresh issue in Files view of PC Suite

I use the last version of Sony Ericsson PC Suite 6.007.00 (090715014519) to put and get files to/from my phone. It seems that the Refresh button of the Files view doesn't work properly. If files are created, removed or modified from the phone, I can't get the change in the My Phone files view in PC Suite. It used to work in previous versions of PC Suite (not 5.xx but older ones).

Is it a known issue? Will it be fixed soon?

This is an announcement more than anything else - I am basically looking for developers to enhance a software I have developed.

The Software is called SonWii - its basically a J2ME code that sends sensor data over Bluetooth to the PC and is read by the PC via a virtual COM port. I need help in 2 areas:

1 - to enhance the SonWii application - if any one feels has any cool ideas, it would be great!

2 - to develop something on the PC end so that we can make it work with existing software/titles.

I can never change my login password

Whenever I try to use the Edit Profile page to set a new password, I get this error message: The username xxxxx already exists, please try another name.

I am not trying to create a new username or to change my username. The only thing I am trying ot do is to chnage the password!

The only way for me to log on now is to use the forgotten password mechanism to get a temporary generated random password sent to me. I'd like to be able to set the password to one that I can remember. How do I do this?

I'm having a very hard time trying to find contact information for Sony Ericsson Corporate. I can't find a phone number or an email. The reason I need this contact information is as follows:

I'm a 4th year computer engineering student at the University of Waterloo. A few fellow students and I are starting a design project that is related to TCP/IP over bluetooth. We need a bluetooth enabled phone to develop on but mostly use to test our hardware prototype. I need to find out if Sony has any opportunities or special programs to help students in similar situations as us. Even a loaner phone would work because we would only need this for a period of about 12 months.

i'm saying a patch or upgrade, because, the w810i doesn't have very good security, just when you turn on, and locking the keys.. but that is nothing.. Motorola you can block you phone ( screen and keys ) and the cell phone still getting the calls or messages.. but with the w 810i even with the keys lock, any one can see who is calling..

Many users want some one to make a security like the motorola for the W 810i with password.....

And the worst is : the web page ( support peoples ) of sony ericsson give a incredible low profile answers....not even related on what you are looking for .......

I have check many web forums.. and these is one of the most popular concern on user..

Seems like a bit of a mystery, but W910i (JP-8) is said to support JSR-179 Location API, but the phone is not listed as compatible with SonyEricsson's HGE-100 GPS accessory.

I understand I will probably need to code something for the phone using Java ME?

If someone has a demo App, I would be delighted, else, any help would be a killer!

I'm using Mac OS X Tiger on PPC machine. I recently tried to download and install the new Theme Creator 4.05 for Mac many times but without success. When the DMG decompressed, the .app appeared not supported by my system no matter I've tried to install English or Chinese version. For me, it seems the software package has problem although I'm not sure. I posted the same problem at Multimedia section of this forum but no response, so I just want to try my luck here. Hopefully, Sony Ericsson's guy will take a look here and check the things out. By the way, if anyone can tell if SE has any channel to report bugs or problem of their softwares. Thanks!

In the last revised spec. of the SyncML/DS Protocol ver. 1.2, 10 Aug. 2007, there is a new feature added in section 6.11 regarding hierarchical synchronization of objects, which could be a file in any format, e.g a JPEG picture etc.

I do not think this feature is mandatory for the 1.2 verison,so my question is: Is there any SE phone currently on the market supporting this, OR, is there any model planned to be released in the new future?

I would be very grateful for any response since a part of my app. will be depending on this feature..

This all looks very nice to me, good effort.

The only problem I can see is that the code display is borked.

Quotation marks in code which showed up fine in the previous forum version now display as quot[/quot] and ampersand symbols display as amp[/amp]. These are fairly common things in code!

Fix this and you're laughing.

C702 "Inactive SIM" and other problems

We have several problems here regarding the C702 which reboots several times a day after showing the message "Inactive SIM", although there's nothing wrong with the SIM cards. I've seen this error also on other phones like the C902 or W760i and the forums are full of users complaining about this error.

I've contacted the SonyEricsson Germany support, which just replies with a standard answer telling me that I should do a software update, although the newest firmware is already installed (R3BA035). Next I tried to contact the UK support which tells me that it is not responsible for German customers.

Maybe some SonyEricsson guy reads this message in this forum...

So, what's SonyEricssons plan? Do they release a new firmware soon? Do they just ignore all the customer complaints? Over 3 months have passed since the first complaints in different forums.

Some other problems with this phone: the music player hangs frequently up to some seconds, the phone keeps rebooting when attached as mass storage device via USB and when working with the phone it sometimes does a rest for some seconds, maybe because it's tired of the frequent reboots?

My conclusion: either SonyEricsson doesn't know about this problems because the callcenter employees just send an automated reply or they intentionally released this buggy firmware to quickly launch the phones and now they aren't able to get the problems fixed.

Previously associated contacts that has amr ringtones, still work.

Hi, I`ve a problem with my P900:

After i played an Mp3 song the with opened flip the application CRASHED.

I thought that closing flip it might end all

application instances...so i closed it. ok.. in that moment the disply had shown a couple of black lines ... so i turned off my mobile.

Now i can turn on it but the display is completly black and led is hold to yellow color.

I can't see or find P900 if i try to link it to PC..

I will thank You if You could explain what is happened and if there is a prompt solution to fix it.

Newbie here. I did a search but came up with only 1 post that didn't really address my problem. Here it is:

I have the W350i. Can I use the new 16GB Memory Stick Micro™ (M2™) for storage? SanDisk support shows that the 16GB is compatible, but SonyErickson support says that my 350i supports only 4GB, and that if I use the 16GB M2 that it could cause problems to my other applications. Is there anything I can do? I really only use the 350i as a music device not, although it is still used as a prepaid phone.

Any help is much appreciated.

I`m a bit lost about Connection Proxy. I`ve connected my K700 to my laptop by Bluetooth. I have a middlet that do a lot of http networking connections. Everything works fine, except ... http requests go very, very slow. I attach a log example. As you may check taking a look to it, http requests take until 90 seconds although data to be transmited are lt[/lt] 2 Kb and quot[/quot]internal[quot][/quot] work between requests in middlet is minimal. How is it possible? Could be perhaps related with some firmware update? Any kind of incompatibility?

GC89 program hangs on Vista

Using the lastest version of the connection manager for the GC89 card (ver 4.1) under windows vista.

After opening the program and trying to establish an EDGE connection, my system hangs unexpectedly. When I hit connect and the program establishes a connection the PC stops responding.

I went to shortcut propierties and set the compatibility mode for WinXP SP2 and the same behaivour.

Any workaround will be greately appreciated.

910i Sync Folders Jotter with Category inOutlook

I can configure folders in Jotter, it`s great. I have the same Categories in Outlook Notes and I would like to have possibility to synchronize Categories with Folders, but after synchronization in Outlook are all notes in category Unregistered, it means synchronization ignores Categories. Is there some solution for this? I am disappointed.

New keyboard layout for K750i

When typing text on the K750i one can easily write in Danish or Icelandic because Denmark and Iceland are big markets. Keyboard layouts are supported for big markets. But somehow SE left Faroe Islands out in the cold because the population of Faroe Islands is so small. And politically Faroe Islands are not even a country. But nonetheless we have special needs as regards keyboard layout. Any language has special needs.

When typing text in Faroese, most Faroese letters can be written with Icelandic keyboard layout. But Icelandic has no Ø character. So one has to switch to Standard abc keyboard layout in order to type an Ø. For the rest of the letters it is necessary to switch back to Icelandic.

So, is it possible for me to design a Faroese keyboard layout for K750i that contains the English A-Z letters plus ÁÍÓÚÝÐÆØ?

K600i connected to USB port. USB modems installed. The application used to send and receive SMS started.

Sending and receiving messages is OK. CLIP is enabled and used to pick up eventual numbers calling to this number. However when a call is received and the CLIP is presented the phone sends an endless stream with the data. After a while the phone dies and the modems dissapear and is no longer visible in the device handler.

The wnclosed trace shows what is happening.

The same kind of behaviour has ben seen with W600 phones

The situation is easily reproduced using a terminal emulator to issue the AT+CLIP=1 on the comport and then just call the number from any phone.

The trace file shows the complete init procedure and the RING. The application tries to reject the call with AT+CHUP

But without success.

Bluetooth: SyncML Problem with K700 phone

We have two sony Ericsson K700 phones(Versions: RZAA003 PRGCXC 125821_EU_1_C and RZA041 PRGCXC 125821_EU_1_C) We are connecting to the HFP Profile using Sony Ericsson K700 Phone. We are also trying to develop a SyncML Application which connects to the Sony Ericsson K700 phone and downloads vcards. When we are connected with HFP and also run a SyncML Session simulataneously, one of the phones (with version RZA041 PRGCXC 125821_EU_1_C) has a problem. This phone, after we run a SyncML session is not able to disconnect HFP. The SyncML Service Level disconnection is happening but the HFP disconnection is not happening. We monitored the HCI logs, and there is no bluetooth disconnect message from the K700 phone if we try to disconnect the device using the phone menu. It simply displays disconnected and then the quot[/quot]Connect[quot][/quot] option is grayed out. If we try to hit the Connect option, it says the Bluetooth device is busy. This problem does not happen if the phone is not connected to HFP and just try to run the SyncML.

The same problem does not appear in the other phone which appears to be a newer version(RZAA003 PRGCXC 125821_EU_1_C). The question is it is a known bug which was fixed in a later version ? If so, is there any workaround for this problem besides running the SyncML session alone without connecting to the HFP ?

Hi I`ve noticed some strange behaviour with @ signs in SMS VCard messages: When I send a vcard from a t68i or a t610 it arrives with | characters instead of @ characters.

If I send a vcard to one of these phones, any @ characters in it are lost.

Does anyone know if this a bug, a feature or a charset issue?

Please try to disconnect and connect the connection

Reason I turned on the phone after 7 minutes is because it becomes uncomunative after the transfer quot[/quot]hangs[quot][/quot]. And only turning it off and back on makes it possible to connect to it once again.

During the 7 minutes of waiting, SE Device Explorer shows a window saying, quot[/quot]Reading Response...[quot][/quot]. The transfer it self seems to work just fine prior to the quot[/quot]Reading Response...[quot][/quot]

Extending PC Suite

Is there any chance of Sony Ericsson making available an API for extending PC Suite? For example, I'd like to be able to add calendar synchronisation for software other than Outlook.

It looks like different sync applications each have their own DLL. Is the programming interface to create such a DLL a secret?

Gmail and mini opera not working after upgrade

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this message but I wanted to report that after the update of my SE K660i to R1EA033 gmail and opera (the only two extra programs I installed) didn't work anymore. I had to reinstall them. It's not a big issue but it is one and could be anoying for some people.

K700 soft keys - Service Providers

Does anyone know if you can change the look of the soft keys. My K700i was from T-mobile and the right key displays a naff-looking T-Zones logo, whereas I would prefer the `more' key that comes as standard. Any ideas?

With SE progressing thier technology into thier phones quite quickly now, Will they be planning on making any more smart phones such as the P900? With all the new phones set for release (K700 etc) will there be a need for a smart phone, as more `everyday' phones encompass more and more features of the smart phone?

T630 message alerts

Is there any way at all to customize the horrible message alerts on the T630?

The T630 has become quite common in Denmark, but there are apparently only one or two of the built-in message alerts that anyone can stand to listen to, because everywhere I go, I hear those same two alerts ... which is really extremely annoying, because I can never tell if it`s my phone, or the guy sitting next to me.

There doesn't seem to be any way to upload new message alerts to the phone?

Is it perhaps possible to bundle message alerts with a theme or something?

Yesterday I decided to upgrade the firmware on my W800i. I got to the point where it said "Downloading new firmware" or something like that - I was using a dialup connection so I decided to leave it overnight - thinking that as soon as the firmware was downloaded it would install, or at least prompt me to do so. When I finally got back to the computer, the program had gone back to the start asking me if I wanted to start the firmware upgrade. Thinking that perhaps it had updated and then gone back to the start, I disconnected the phone and found that the phone refuses to start up - it's just gone dead. When I try connecting it to a USB port Windows shows the mesage that the USB device is malfunctioning or something like that, so it refuses to go through the update service again. Could somebody please help me out, as I need the phone urgently.

Not sure whether this is the right place to ask.

We have a Ericsson R190 Satellite phone. We wanted to send AT commands from a PC through hyperterminal, connecting at 4800. Apparently only AT gives OK result. All other AT commands give ERROR.

Pls help. Seems that we need to unlock the phone port?

I have created a group in my phonebook, but when I pick to insert the mobile phone of quot[/quot]Alex[quot][/quot], for example, in that group, the phone inserts the mobile phone of quot[/quot]Nick[quot][/quot]. This happens also for another names, not only for quot[/quot]Alex[quot][/quot].

Does anybody have the same problem?

P900 Bugs

I have some bugs to report for the P900:

1st: when you send an sms via the `create SMS` funtion either in flip cloed mode or flip open mode, the phone does not display the name of the person you are sending the sms too, just the number. this is very annoying and the phone should alwyas display the name of the person you are sending the sms too anywhere where this function is used. it should also display the name of the persone first and then the number when you are sending and sms to multiple people. since using the 'create sms' function is the only way to sent a multirecipeint sms, it becomes very difficult to see who you are sending the message too when only the numbers are displayed and not peoples names!

2nd: this bug has been carried over from the P800 and is still not fixed. it relates to the 'find' function in the PC synced email account. if you use the find function, what happens after it is completed is very annoying and renders the email app useless. basically what is happening after you do a find is that in the from field of the emails it is putting the name and email address of the person the email was sent to infront of the senders information. as a result of this when you look at the list view of your emails, they all appear as though they are all from yourself and not the actual people that sent them!!! hence you cannot dicern who they are from unless you first open the email and then go to the information tab and look at who the email is from!!!

could someone please look into these two issues and have them resolved asap!!!

First of all my intro im hammad sheikh doing MBA in Information Systems . I m from Pakistan i bought T610 a weeks ago n its awesome cell i have ever bought no doubt !. Sony Ericsson is capturing market in Pakistan but i got sad when i didnt see Pakistan`s name in countries list anyway , i wanted to ask few things.

First of all i wanted to ask is there any way so i can transfer my pics that i have taken on my T610 to pc? i have attached my T610 to pc through cable .

Is any movie software out there so we can make clips on T610 ? like theres a software for nokia 7650 .

How can i download ringtones from pc to my T610 through cable without wap like if i dnt have wap access n can we save ringtones on pc i mean transfer from T610 to pc that we have made in DJ Composer .

I hope someone will help me with these features if T610 has n if it doesnt plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz work on them it will make T610 more awesome i bet

Application Activation using SMS

Hi there....

I`m looking at methods of securing software distributed on MMC cards. My idea is to use SMS to send the handset IMEI and use this to generate an 'activation code' that would be delivered to the phone via bio-message. The software would then be allowed to work on this handset.

Does anyone know if this is possible, and if there are any companies out there that can supply this kind of technology?

my question is fairly simple,

when using a bluetooth handsfree withk700i, if after being paired, the handsfree is switched , the switched on will the k700i automatically re-establish a conection the handsfree unit.

I would like to develop a new game for my phone (a t68i).

I don`t care about the language (C++, Java... even Vb if there is nothing else).

Where can I find the dev tools, and mostly, how do I transfert the application on the phone ? (For the moment, I just have bluetooth connection).

I searched a lot on this website, but nothing seems to be available for this, only for more recent phones.

Xperia Screen changes to landscape with magnetic case?

I am using my xperia with newly purchased leather case that has magnet closure. The problem what I am facing is when ever I take or put back the device the screen changes automatically to landscape and changes back to normal after a few seconds. Does anyone facing this problem? Does the magnetic effect cause any damage to my xperia? Please advise?

the problem is that p 900 and p910 have no possibility to enter a telephone number and save it from closed flip position. this is a big problem which have to change.

Hi,

I currently have some problems on opening the J2ME/J2ME forum. It ever tells me OutOfMemoryError on trying to view the first page. The error message appears in the description frame of the first post. The second page works flawlessly. I allready altered the Threads per page setting down to 15 again, so it seems like this is a problem of the server, connected to the Threads on the first page.

I've verified this behavior on using Opera(Mac/Linux), Safari and Eppiphany(Gnome, Gekko based).
